Updates
I haven’t been able to post for a few weeks due to a series of crises. Many thanks to everyone who donated, shared our fundraiser, and prayed for our family. My wife and daughter came home from the ICU two weeks ago. Josie is recovering well, with only a mild cough remaining from her pneumonia, which is expected during her healing process.
Our house is under construction and won't be finished until at least the end of next week, so we're living with my parents. If you've followed our story, you know that I'm expecting a 20% reduction in work hours sometime in the next month. This is a delayed but inevitable effect of the economic downturn.
So far, I've posted the complete book of Jonah and selected portions of Job in this Substack. I've nearly finished translations of Esther and Ruth, but they're not posted yet. My plan is to keep the translations free, but I'll move the commentary behind a paywall of about $5/month. Right now, all my archives are freely available, but in the future, only one complete series will stay free; the rest will be behind the paywall.
Please consider a paid subscription if you are interested and share my Substack with others. I'll send out a notification when I activate the subscription paywall. Whether you opt for a free or paid subscription, your critical feedback is invaluable to keep me from venturing too far out onto the skinny branches of interpretation. Once my work hours are reduced I’ll start posting more often or perhaps slightly lengthier pieces of content. I also activated the Chat feature which should be accessible to all of you below if you want to join it. I may use it to start sending out updates and smaller bits of content in between the larger posts.

Thomas Hilleke
